San Francisco officials have approved an environmental impact report for the America's Cup over the objections of environmental groups.
The report was approved by the Planning Commission on Thursday night in a 5-0 vote. It explains race organizers' plans to protect local land, water and air quality.
But environmentalists and neighborhood groups have objected that it is incomplete. They had asked that the Planning Commission vote be rescheduled to give them more time to review the eight-volume report.
