Santa Monica to unveil its first 'green' street

A portion of Bicknell Avenue in Santa Monica is now "green street." No, the name hasn't changed, but Santa Monica on Tuesday will unveil many features that environmental officials say will divert storm water runoff and direct it into the ground, keeping runoff pollution out of the bay.
The project was funded by the State Water Resources Control Board, the Santa Monica Bay Restoration Commission and the city's Measure V Clean Beaches and Ocean fund.
