Fremont-based nonprofit wins grant

California Coastkeeper has received a $130,000 Goldman Fund grant.

The money will help the group continue its work preventing the runoff of contaminated storm water and protecting water quality in protected areas along the California coast.

The California Coastkeeper Alliance advocates statewide for clean water and coastal protection on behalf of itself and California's 12 water-keeper groups, which span the coast from the Oregon border to San Diego.
