San Diegans can learn about the state of the region's water supply and conservation efforts at a public forum next week that features a panel of environmental experts.
Nonprofit group San Diego Coastkeeper is hosting the Dec. 8 event called Signs of the Tide.
It will feature a presentation about water supply for the county and a ways to find a sustainable source. The San Diego region gets about 85 percent of its drinking water from the Colorado River or northern California.
Rob Davis, an environmental writer with media outlet Voiceofsandiego.org, will moderate the panel. (Read his blog "In the Muck" here.)
Panelists include:
-David Pierce, a climate analyst with the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, based at the University of California San Diego in La Jolla.
-Brook Sarson, an expert on rainwater harvesting and water reuse.
-Bruce Reznik, former executive director of San Diego Coastkeeper and environmental activist.
Other environmental activists also will be on-hand to discuss their knowledge of water conservation.
The public will be be able to ask questions after the presentations.
