Public Meeting Information

The following California State agencies hold regular public meetings throughout California to make decisions that impact the quality of our water and the protection of our coastal resources.  Public comments are welcome at each meeting.  We encourage you to attend and let your voice be heard!

State Water Resources Control Board

The State Board's mission is to ensure the highest reasonable quality for waters of the state, while allocating those waters to achieve the optimum balance of beneficial uses.

California Ocean Protection Council

The Ocean Protection Council is charged with coordinating the activities of ocean-related state agencies to improve the effectiveness of state efforts to protect ocean resources.

Marine Life Protection Act Initiative Blue Ribbon Task Force

The Blue Ribbon Task Force oversees regional projects to develop alternative packages of marine protected areas and ultimately makes recommendations to the Califronia Fish and Game Commission on how best to implement the Marine Life Protection Act.

California Fish & Game Commission

The Fish & Game Commission is involved in the management and wise use of California's fish and wildlife resources. At their public meetings they discuss various proposed regulations, permits, licenses, management policies and other subjects within its areas of responsibility.

California State Lands Commission

The California State Lands Commission has broad mandates for protection of California's natural environment. The Commission has jurisdiction over all state lands and is responsible for leases and permits on state lands for several purposes including marinas, industrial wharves, tanker anchorages, harvesting of timber, dredging, grazing, mining, oil and gas, and geothermal development.
